In September 2021, 18 sites were investigated for the sediment through grab samples and video footage of the seabed (video and grab samples were collected in the same location during the survey).
A drop-frame was used to obtain video footage of the seabed, in which two underwater cameras were mounted (GoPro HERO 7) and (ActionCam). The frame dropped from the vessel allowed taking photos from 40 cm above the bottom, with a coverage angle of 120 degrees. Video-frame data with poor visibility (related to turbidity or too strong currents) were discarded and a total of 56 images were analyzed. The underwater videos were thoroughly viewed and from each one was extrapolated a representative image with standard dimensions (2840×2160 pixels).
