- Multibeam echosounder time series of water column backscatter. Multibeam echosounder time series of water column backscatter datasets extracted using FM Midwater v7.8.4 for the beam that intersected the path of the sinking marine litter piece in the water column. Every choice of intersection was done manually for the beam that had the highest visible backscatter amplitude for the sinking marine litter and as little noise as possible. Exporting in FM Midwater included all available export settings, including 'ship position', beam attribute' and 'ping info'. The "Deliverable marGnet_D3.2.1_Report_on_the experiment_results" of the marGnet Project describes in detail the experiment carried out in the framework of the marGnet project with the aim of estimating the sinking velocity of different types of marine litter.
