Sediment sample collected by using a box corer in the framework of the CORSUB Project during the TREMOR24 oceanographic campaign.

Descrizione

On board:

1. Photo of the box core

2. Subsampling with plastic liner tubes (10 cm and 12 cm in diameter) inserted by hand

3. Collection of sediment samples from the top, including any live rhodoliths

4. Collection of sediment samples from the bottom

5. Emptying the box corer and recovering dead rhodoliths from the bottom

5. Extrusion of cores into 2 cm segments in the onboard wet lab (12 cm liner)

On land:

1. Sealing and cutting of the 10 cm liner in the laboratory in Milan (UNI BICOCCA)

2. Photographing samples and drying them away from direct light of the live rhodoliths
