During the oceanographic cruise BARCA2007, the continental slope area and the basin between Bari and the Gargano promontory (Southern Adriatic) were investigated. The main goals were: - Extension of the multibeam coverage and CHIRP profiles along the Pelagosa area and the Dauno seamount to complete the mapping of active tectonic structures in the area, define recent submarine landslide deposits and study the distribution of muddy deposits due to bottom current ; - Detailed sampling in order to characterize deposits due to bottom current in the area of ​​interaction between LIW and NAdDW, landslide and mass transport deposits highlighted by CHIRP profiles, evolution of Bari Canyon; - Collection of plankton nets associated with CTD measurements and bottom samples to characterize the associations to living foraminifera and the isotopic composition of the species used in paleoclimatic works.
