Survey INVAS_2012
The INVAS_2012 oceanographic cruise took place on the central adriatic shelf, on the northern edge of the meso-adriatic depression, and on the platform in front of the Gulf of Manfredonia. The aim was to investigate, through a multidisciplinary approach, the subsurface structures connected to the presence of river incisions formed in the last glacio-eustatic cycle. In particular, by studying the systems of Adriatic engraved valleys we will try to discriminate between the two fundamental factors that determine their origin and the filling phases: the change in the base level and the variations in flow rate related to the hydrological cycle.
