Project MICROPLAG
The objective is to evaluate the presence of microplastics into the 3 sub-basins of the Venice Lagoon and of the draining sub-basic to understand their transportation path. In particular, ISP works to simultaneously quantify and characterize small microplastics (<100 µm), plastic additives and other components of microlitter in water and sediments.
Sampled waters from 12 sites of the lagoon for 4 campaigns in the period 2022-2023 into the 3 sub-basins. Sampled sediments during 1 capaigns into 4 sites. Sampes 11 sites for 4 capaigns in the period 2022-2023 into the draining basin. Sampled the CUAI (Canale Unico Acque Irrigue), collecting waters from Sile river to the Ca' Solaro purifier, for 12 consecutive months
