The aims of the MarBeep oceanographic cruise were:

- Identification of the reflectivity of bottom and of water column on areas with emission of fluids (hot and cold) on the seabed; - Collection of sediment samples for sedimentological, gas chromatographic, geochemical and isotopic analyzes; - Collection of samples for analysis of the biodiversity of the benthic components, from viruses to macrofauna, in the different habitats identified in the studied sites. - Identification of seepage system and pockmark, transparent facies linked to the presence of gas, bright reflections, normal faults associated with rising fluids, surfaces of landslides and their internal deformations; - Characterization of the vertical physico-chemical variations of the water column in the presence of fluid emissions to the seabed.
