Survey ASCI14
The research activities were concentrated in the northern platform of Adriatic Sea where the oceanographic cruise ASCI14 acquired new data for three distinct research projects. Project A: Research for sand deposits in the shelf. The characterization, mapping and development of an investigation methodology and potential use of the sandy portion of the submerged river deposits, will make it possible to complete the budget of the sand resource in the platform and to define the technical problems for the possible utilization of these deposits. Project B: Test of the applicability of the geodatabase of the sand deposits present on the platform off the Emilia Romagna region, as a tool for the utilization of submerged sandy deposits. Project C: Study of eustatic variations and subsidence in the Upper Adriatic over the last 130,000 years through geomorphological, stratigraphic and geoarchaeological indicators.
